Amd Hotfix Driver

NOTE: This driver is not intended for use on AMD products running in Apple Boot Camp platforms. Users of these platforms should contact their system manufacturer for driver support.

AMD has just released a new driver for its graphics cards that packs performance improvements and a Crossfire profile for Rise of the Tomb Raider. In addition, this driver also introduces a Crossfire profile for Fallout 4. Performance/Quality improvements and an AMD Crossfire profile is available for Rise of the Tomb Raider An AMD Crossfire profile is available for Fallout 4

Designed to provide you with a clean, modern and easy-to-use interface where you can quickly access the latest software features, game stats, performance reports, driver updates, and much more - all from one convenient location.

2 Years and RX Vega 56 still doesn't have proper driver support. Some of the cards have an issue where the driver will crash every few minutes randomly even under no work load. I happen to own one of these cards. AMD released a driver that fixes this: Driver 17.11.3 which is less likely to crash but still crashes.

As mentioned in the intro, this hotfix has been delivered swiftly. A new AAA Vulkan game crashing on its newest RX Vega gaming hardware would be bad PR for AMD if not fixed quickly. AMD has fixed two new games with similar problems:

AMD had a driver solution in a very short time with the so-called "compatibility mode", which we examined in the article AMD Radeon RX 480: New driver relieves the motherboard clearly under the microscope. It is precisely this mode and the shifting of the balance between the voltage converter trains via the I2C protocol that has again been the subject of the feedback we have received.

With 5.8 amperes, the current for both drivers that use the compatibility mode is only minimally (exactly 0.3 amperes) above what the SIG standard requires with a maximum of 5.5 amperes. So from this point of view, everything is fine and the values have not changed.

Let's start with the latter. We have noticed several times that a driver update mercilessly overwrites some basic settings with the default values. Since this is done sporadically and obviously there is no system behind it, there is actually only one piece of advice for owners of the reference card who want to use the mode: After each update, it is necessary to check whether the compatibility mode is still activated.

The other cause is a little more complex and to look in the game instinct of the users. In the meantime, there are tools and possibilities with which you can make your own BIOS modifications using the current driver or downloaded and modified firmware can also flash without a valid signature.

Caution!Flashing such modifications to the reference card prevents it from being recognized as such by the driver. Since compatibility mode is a software-only solution within the driver, it no longer works in these cases. In addition, firmware from certain board partner cards that rely on a different phase design/balancing could even damage the reference card in all modes, or even damage the reference card in all modes. at least lead to unstable operation.

However due to that the new feature, the plugin now finally dropped support for ancient drivers. You will now need to have an up-to-date driver, at minimum 19.7.1 though the recommended minimum is 19.9.2, otherwise the plugin will refuse to load and does not add any encoders for use.

The plugin has been updated to the new 1.4.9.0 AMF SDK, which should make newer drivers work better with the plugin. Additionally some code cleanup has been done in order to reduce the work necessary for a Linux supporting build in the future - however there is no clear date on this yet. Various other errors were also fixed that could have caused crashes during startup, encoding and shutdown.

The Blacklist introduced with 2.3.0 unfortunately had the side effect that all Windows 8 users were no longer able to use the plugin and had to downgrade. With this version, the blacklist is instead now a warning written into the log file. This is all thanks to @jp9000's work on moving the initial AMF Capability test into a different process, stopping broken drivers from crashing OBS Studio.

It unfortunately had to come to this. The plugin now finally blacklists older drivers, as it otherwise would turn into an unmaintainable mess trying to support everything back to 16.11.5, the first driver that had AMD AMF support. That means that from this day on, all future versions will only work with a minimum runtime version of 1.4.6.0. So if you're still using an older driver: What are you doing? Update already!

And now it's time for the plugin to also be updated! This release primarily aims at adding support for AMF 1.4.4 and improving support for older drivers, with some of the recently discovered bugs and crashes fixed.

One of the first things you should do when a game is having problems is ensuring that your computer's drivers and operating system are up to date. Out-of-date drivers and operating systems can lead to several issues that can negatively affect game performance.

Currently, the CPU scheduling techniques that are used by Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are not optimized for the AMD Bulldozer module architecture. This architecture is found on AMD FX series, AMD Opteron 4200/4300 Series, and AMD Opteron 6200/6300 Series processors. Therefore, multithreaded workloads may not be optimally distributed on computers that have one of these processors installed in a lightly-threaded environment. This may result in decreased system performance for some applications.Important The power management policy for processor core parking on your computer may prevent this update from producing the desired performance increase. To disable core parking, install the hotfix that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 2646060.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix. If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix. Note If additional issues occur or if any troubleshooting is required, you might have to create a separate service request. The usual support costs will apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for this specific hotfix. The drivers also fix mouse cursor corruption, Mozilla Firefox video playback crashes and flickering in Rocket League in AMD Crossfire noticed on some Radeon RX 400 series graphics cards, flickering issues noticed with Eyefinity, issues with multi-GPU in DirectX 12 and Ashes of the Singularity, some problems with Radeon Settings, corruption and stuttering bugs noticed in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on HD 7000 series and AMD Crossfire mode and DirectX 11 and problems with HDMI audio on Windows 10 Anniversary Edition.

As always, the Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.9.1 drivers are available for Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 OS in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions and support all AMD graphics cards since the days of the HD 7700/HD 7900.

The hotfix installer that is included with Windows XP and with Windows 2000 post-Service Pack 3 (SP3) updates includes functionality to support multiple hotfix installations. For earlier versions of Windows 2000, the command-line tool that is named "QChain.exe" is available for download. 2ff7e9595c
